Our Story
Hybrid 3 began as a simple idea of creating a space where people could make music without barriers or pretence. Over time, that space grew into a rehearsal and recording studio, a music school, and a hub for workshops and artist development. Some people come through the door for a rehearsal. Others start with a lesson, a mentoring session, or a community workshop. However they arrive, the aim is to give them the time, tools and support to develop at their own pace.

Community has shaped the way Hybrid 3 has grown. We work with young people and individuals who might not otherwise have access to creative opportunities including those facing challenges such as learning disabilities, time in hospital, poverty, displacement or exclusion from school. Programmes such as StoryBombs give participants the chance to create and share their own radio podcasts, building skills and confidence in inclusive, supportive settings.Alongside workshops and education, we support artists through recording, production and development projects including initiatives backed by Arts Council England.
The studio has also become a live venue, giving bands the opportunity to perform in front of an audience in a space that feels familiar and supportive.

Hybrid 3 continues to evolve, shaped by the people who use it.
