Rotherham: Children's Capital of Culture 2025

In 2017, the charity Grimm & Co asked local young people: “If you were in charge of Rotherham, what would you do?”

Seeing that young people loved where they live, a group of change-makers set out to make Rotherham the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture in 2025.

The main idea was to put children at the forefront of decisions made about them and to increase their engagement with community initiatives to empower them and allow them to have an active role in Rotherham’s future.

Partners helping to fund the initiatives include the UK Community Renewal Fund, Arts Council England, the European Regional Development Fund, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, The Space, and others. This funding will go towards various events, training and networking opportunities.

Hybrid 3 Studios have received funding to be a part of this incredible scheme and provide traineeships to young people who work, live and/or study in Rotherham. The roles available are for a Trainee Creative Project Manager who will work with the team to:Assist the Studio Manager in the day-to-day running of the recording studio

• Assist in planning, organising, and executing audio projects for young participants.

• Coordinate project activities, ensuring they run smoothly and on schedule.

• Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.

• Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to senior management.

• Manage project resources, including equipment, materials, and budgets.

• Facilitate workshops and training sessions in music, creative writing, and podcasting

• Collaborate with schools, community organisations, and other stakeholders.

• Evaluate project outcomes and gather feedback to improve future initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and safeguarding protocols.

  
  

  This role would be ideal for someone interested in working in a recording studio to assist the studio manager in all aspects of studio management. Oversee and manage audio projects designed for young people, helping them to develop their skills in music production, and creative storytelling. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for the creative arts and a desire to make a positive

  As well as this, Hybrid 3 Studios are looking for a Trainee Studio Sound Engineer to:

• Assist senior sound engineers in recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.

• Set up and break down studio equipment, including microphones, cables, and instruments.

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of studio gear.

• Operate digital audio workstations (DAWs) and other recording software under supervision.

• Participate in the editing and arrangement of audio tracks.

• Support in sound design and audio post-production tasks.

• Collaborate with artists, producers, and other studio personnel to ensure high-quality audio

  output.

• Maintain an organised and clean studio environment.

• Attend training sessions and workshops to continuously improve technical skills.

• Assist in the planning and implementation of creative audio projects with young people.

• This role would be ideal for someone interested in embarking on an immersive learning journey, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of audio engineering, and who is eager to develop their skills and grow within the industry.
