On the 7th of June, Hybrid had their very first Youth Music celebration where our amazing young artists got the chance to perform at Hagglers corner.
It was a culmination of all the hard work the young people had put into their artist development sessions. Over the last 6 months, our bands have worked tirelessly with their coaches to reach their musical goals.
The range of ages, genres and ability came together to create a truly amazing and memorable show. It means so much to the team at Hybrid that so many young people had their first gig surrounded by such a supportive crowd.
Every artist had the courage to get up on a stage and play their hearts out. There were smiles all around when each one finished their set. Audience members left feeling inspired having potentially found their new favourite artists.
All the young people who rocked the stage and were so proud of themselves for taking the leap of faith into live music.
“It meant a lot to us to have a really supportive environment for our first gig in and we both have talked to each other about how much it meant and boosted our confidence with what we've made so far.” - Anna (Tacenda)
Even our young hosts “Fish and Chips” from our storybombs group stood up to the plate and ensured that all of the bands got the welcome and applause they deserved.
With their funny quips they stole the hearts of everyone at hagglers and helped ease the band's nerves. They even managed to overcome their own stage fright!
We got lots of great feedback from the audience who said: “It was great. So much talent!” and that it was a “great event for the young people”.
From everyone at Hybrid we wanted to say a big thank you to our amazing young bands, our coaches, to Hagglers Corner and to Youth Music for making this possible.
